Before the ceremony, Li Guozhong, accompanied by Tan Ren and Zhan Lifeng, visited the trailer leasing headquarters of CIMC Vehicles (Group) and learned about the business model and current products from He Xiansong. Li said that the advanced manufacturing industry was the foundation for making Zhenjiang into a major city in industrial development. He pointed out that, as a high-level and iconic company with a large size, CIMC Vehicles (Group) would definitely be a great support and driving force for Zhenjiang City to realize premium development.

“It only takes CIMC Vehicles 36 days to establish the trailer leasing headquarters in Zhenjiang from the negotiation to the signing of the contract,” said Zhan Lifeng, a member of Zhenjiang CPC Standing Committee and secretary of the CPC and Labor Committee of the district. A total of 7 projects including the trailer leasing headquarters of CIMC Vehicles will be constructed, involving areas such as high-end equipment manufacturing and modern services, matching with the direction for the development of major sectors in the district, and injecting strong momentum for the district to build “a new space for the city’s development, a gathering place of featured sectors, and a main engine for driving forward innovation.”
On the ceremony, Tan Ren said that CIMC Vehicles, during its years of globalized operation, has been thinking about how to introduce advanced experience from overseas to enhance the efficiency of China’s road transportation industry and to bring the manufacturing of logistics and transportation equipment to a new high. He also said that three related projects have been invested in Zhenjiang centering on such innovation and the trailer leasing project and the aftermarket high-end van manufacturing project with construction starting today were the fourth major investment made by CIMC Vehicles in Zhenjiang and the single largest one it made here. Currently, related businesses invested by CIMC Vehicles in the city have entered a track of healthy development, achieving good economic and social benefits.
Tan believes that the growth of leasing business brings more demand for high-end products. Therefore, CIMC Vehicles has stepped up its investment in Zhenjiang and decided to invest in the aftermarket high-end van body manufacturing project on top of its trailer leasing headquarters. This project largely involves the R&D and manufacturing of special bodies such as high-end logistics and refrigerating bodies and swap bodies featuring world-leading product design and technology from the US and Europe, combining with sales and leasing of high-end bodies within China and the export to Europe. He said that “we are looking forward to the starting of the production of these projects because they are capable of not only building a mutually beneficial and win-win industrial chain and facilitating the economic transformation and upgrading of Zhenjiang but also injecting great energy for the city to create a center for manufacturing high-end logistics equipment.”
