On January 11, 2018, SF-Trailernet Technology (hereinafter referred to as SF-Trailernet) held a contract signing ceremony with J.B.HUNT, the largest intermodal transportation company in the US, for the cooperation on smart trailer systems, officially entering the global smart trailer industry. It is the first company in China to sign a contract with an overseas giant of transportation, opening up a channel for the expansion of Chinese smart trailer systems in the international trailer market.
Established in March 2017, SF-Trailernet is a JV technological company jointly invested by CIMC Vehicles (Group) and Shenzhen Anxing Co., Ltd. It is dedicated to helping its customers address issues such as asset management, lowering of cost, uplifting of operational efficiency, and improvement of safety during transportation.
CIMC Vehicles (Group) is the world’s largest manufacturer of special vehicles that has ranked No. 1 in the global semi-trailer industry for three consecutive years. With fierce market competition and the challenge of transformation and upgrading, the Group has managed to develop the world’s first smart trailer system by using SF-Trailernet and thus enjoys dominance in the industry.
Listed on NASDAQ in 1981, J.B.HUNT is the largest intermodal transportation company in the US. After signing the contract with SF-Trailernet for the trial of smart trailer equipment and system, it will later carry out renovation and upgrading to turn its more than 70,000 container semi-trailers into smart ones. The signing of the contract means that CIMC Vehicles (Group) has made an important step in the development of smart trailer systems. Next, the group will enhance the smart features of its products through deep mining of the value behind the data and usher in a new wave of globalization, winning the trust from domestic and overseas customers for the group’s future development. It is expected that the first smart trailer systems will arrive in the US and be installed on the container semi-trailers of J.B.HUNT during the spring of 2018.
